During library classes this month, our 3rd–5th grade students learned all about being safe and kind online. Through discussions and a fun escape-style game, students practiced recognizing warning signs in online games, balancing screen time with offline activities, and using kind words and friendly emojis when interacting with people they know online.
Students also enjoyed small prizes from their breakout boxes, including a mandala affirmation card they could color, relax with, and bring back to school to be laminated—plus a little peppermint candy for a refreshing treat. We encourage families to continue these conversations at home and remind children to stay safe and kind while using technology.
