Student Health Services has implemented a change in regards to the previously required tuberculin (TB) skin tests for Kindergarten entry to TSD. The Department of State Health Services (DSHS) does not recommend universal TB skin testing. Instead, a TB risk questionnaire is used to identify students who may be at high risk. The TB risk questionnaire is included in all new and returning student registration forms. After answering the TB risk questionnaire, the nurse will contact you if further follow up is required.
Notice Regarding Tuberculosis Screening: Pursuant to Texas DSHS recommendations, universal TB testing is not mandated. Screening is now conducted via the mandatory TB questionnaire embedded in the registration form. Based on the risk factors identified in your responses, the School Health Services will communicate any subsequent testing requirements. Please ensure all answers are accurate to facilitate a timely review.
