An introduction...
I'm thrilled to be starting my first year with the ACCESS program! With over 25 years in education, I've had the incredible privilege of teaching and working across nearly every stage of the learning journey — from early childhood programming to elementary, middle, and high school classrooms, as well as ESOL bilingual classes with deaf adults at Austin Community College and ASL courses with college students at the University of Texas.
It was my time working with deaf adults at ACC that first sparked my passion for this community. Before joining ACCESS, I also spent 8.5 wonderful years as a librarian with the ELC-Elementary department, which gave me a whole new appreciation for the power of literacy and lifelong learning.
This year, I'm excited to teach ESL and Introduction to Digital Skills, and I can't wait to dive into both subjects alongside my students!
When I'm not teaching, you'll find me experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, getting lost in a good book, enjoying feel-good TV shows, and exploring new places with my family.
