Danny Blalock
Hello I’m Danny Blalock. I teach Automotive Technology I & II courses at Texas School for the Deaf. This will be my 8th year teaching, and I’m also a proud TSD alumnus, Class of 2001!
I earned an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Automotive Technology from Austin Community College (ACC) and have earned several ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certifications. I also owned and operated my own automotive repair business, Silent Automotive, in Austin, Texas, for 12 years. In 2019, I decided to close the shop on good terms and begin a new chapter at TSD, where I could give back to my community. I still do some automotive repair work in my home garage during summer break and on some weekends.
My wife and I have three CODA kids and one Doberman dog. I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, outdoor activities, fixing just about anything with my hands, walking my dog on trails, home renovation projects, car projects, and endurance racing with ChampCar. I’m a die-hard Houston sports fan of the Texans, Rockets, and Astros, and also a proud Longhorns fan!
I look forward to working with your kids in the Automotive Technology program, sharing my real-world automotive experience, and helping them grow their skills.
