About Me

Hello! My name is Mr. Bingham, and I’m excited to be the Middle School American Sign Language teacher at Texas School for the Deaf. I teach students in 6th through 8th grade, and I enjoy helping students build confidence in using ASL while learning about Deaf community, culture, and identity.

This is my sixth year teaching, and I enjoy creating a welcoming classroom where students feel comfortable learning, practicing, and participating. In my ASL classes, students learn through signing activities, conversations, group work, games, technology, demonstrations, and class discussions. I want my students to feel proud of their progress and more confident using ASL both inside and outside of the classroom.

I was born and raised in New Jersey and earned my B.A. in English from Gallaudet University. I believe that you should never stop learning, and I continue to grow as a teacher and as a student. I am always looking for new ways to improve my teaching and help my students grow.

Outside of school, I’m a diehard Philadelphia sports fan. I also enjoy spending time in nature, playing pickleball and disc golf, and participating in esports and motorsports. I have two cats, Zetsu and Itachi, who keep me busy when I’m at home.

I’m looking forward to another great year of learning, growth, and making connections with my students!
