Austin Bishop's Math Class

Hello everyone,

My name is Austin Bishop, and I’m excited to be your math teacher this school year! I grew up in Fort Worth, Texas. After high school in Birdville ISD, I started college at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) studying Mechanical Engineering Technology. But not long after, I realized my true passion was in teaching and supporting the Deaf community.

I transferred to the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma, where I earned my degree in Deaf Education. It was also where I met my fiancée! From 2020 to 2022, I taught math to students in grades 7 through 12 at the Kansas School for the Deaf. During that time, I also completed my Master’s degree in Deaf Education Studies from Gallaudet University. In 2022, my family and I moved back to Texas. Since then, I’ve been teaching high school math here at Texas School for the Deaf. I love being back in my home state, especially because of the people, the food, and the warm weather.

Outside of school, I’m a proud dad to two young kids and three pets that keep us on our toes. In my free time, I enjoy trying new foods, spending time outside, running, and cycling. And just for fun, if you ever want to make my day, cookies are definitely the way to go!

Being a teacher brings me a lot of joy. I believe every student can succeed, and I’m here to support and encourage you every step of the way. One quote I always keep in mind is: “Why wait until tomorrow if you can do it today?”

In our math class, my goal is to make learning meaningful, fun, and something you can carry with you into the future. If you ever have questions or just want to chat, feel free to email me at [email protected] stop by Room 203, or come see me during office hours.

I’m really looking forward to a wonderful 2025–2026 school year with all of you!
