Welcome,

Hi! My name is Tammy Southerland, and I’m thrilled to be teaching English III and English IV this year. My goal is that by the end of spring, each of you will leave my class not only with stronger skills but also as more compassionate, thoughtful individuals.

Grading & Late Work Policy

Please note that no late work will be accepted without a Late Work Excuse Form. You may submit late work up to 72 hours after the original due date with a 50% grade reduction, provided you turn in the completed form. If something comes up that may prevent you from submitting an assignment on time, please email me before the deadline. Communication is key, and I’m happy to work with you when you reach out in advance.

About Me

I was born and raised in Texas and earned my Bachelor’s degree from Gallaudet University. I’m currently pursuing my Master’s in Deaf Education at Lamar University.

Outside of TSD, I enjoy spending time with my partner, friends, and family. I’m passionate about making learning fun, engaging, and meaningful, and I can’t wait to spend this year learning and growing with you.
