Supporting You & Your Child at School

Hi, I’m Nathalie Johnston, your Middle School PBIS Coordinator and a proud TSD alum!

I’m here to help ensure your child feels safe, supported, and successful at school. My role focuses on building strong relationships, encouraging positive choices, and working closely with students, teachers, counselors, and families especially when things get tough.

Whether your child needs help managing big emotions, working through conflict, or just navigating the ups and downs of middle school, I’m here as a partner. I believe in the power of home and school teamwork, and I’m always happy to connect if you have questions, concerns, or just want to check in.

Since joining TSD, I became a certified TBRI (Trust-Based Relational Intervention) trainer, which helps me use trauma-informed, relationship-based strategies to support students and families.

Before working for TSD, I supported youth in a residential treatment center, helping children and teens with complex emotional and behavioral needs. I also continue to work in private practice, where I support individuals and families through counseling and emotional wellness. These experiences shape how I approach my work with empathy, structure, and a deep belief that every child has the capacity to grow, connect, and succeed.

Outside of work, I enjoy designing jewelry and spending time with family and friends. I’m a bit of a homebody, but if I could, I’d travel more to explore architecture, culture, and art around the world. I also love interior design and enjoy finding new ways to keep my creativity flowing in everyday life.

I have two kids who think they’re already adults which makes juggling family time a fun challenge! Family is always important to me, and I try to find time for them, even when they’d rather be with their friends. It’s all about finding balance and making every moment count.
