Welcome!
Hello y'all!
I'm Tracy Camp, the librarian for the Secondary School Library that serves students in grades 6-12 and staff. I have a BA in English from Texas State University-San Marcos, and a Master of Library Sciences from Texas Woman's University. This will be my second year working with TSD. Before coming to TSD, I worked as the reference librarian for Austin Community College for six years.
I'm a native-born Texan, and I call Austin my hometown. I was mainstreamed with sign language interpreters, which enabled me to fully immerse myself in after school activities. I played volleyball (though I wasn't much good at it!), marched as a colorguard member of the high school marching band, and immersed myself into different roles in theater. I still love going to the theater when I can to this day! These days, you can find me spending time at home with my husband and our two cats and one dog playing video games or reading, or out with friends playing board games, bowling, running tabletop role-playing games (such as Dungeons & Dragons), or traveling to different cities/states and taking in the views!
Growing up, the library was a place of refuge for me - it was where I could find information about the world that I live in, and to lose myself into stories of adventures and magic. I hope to make the library a place where students can continue to nurture their knowledge growth, and inspire a lifelong love of reading and learning.
Please reach out to me any time via email if you have any questions about the library or your child's usage of the library. I also have included the links to the other pages where you can get the most up-to-date information about the library.
