Teacher Information

Welcome! I’m excited to be teaching 8th Grade Bilingual Language Arts and Debate.

I was born and raised in Indiana, where I attended Indiana School for the Deaf. I graduated from Gallaudet University with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences. After graduating, I returned to my alma mater and taught preschool before moving to Texas. I am now in my second year of teaching at TSD.

Literature has always been a passion of mine. I love getting lost in a good story and discovering how books can introduce us to new perspectives, challenge the way we think, and help us better understand the world around us. I hope to share that love of literature with my students while encouraging them to develop their own voices through reading, writing, and debate.

Outside of the classroom, I am the Head Coach of the High School Varsity Cheerleading team and Middle School Debate Club. I grew up cheering at ISD, so it is especially meaningful to continue that tradition here at TSD. Last year, one of my debate students won the Gallaudet Youth Debate Bowl, earning our school’s first middle school championship title. I’m excited to see what our students accomplish this year!

When I’m not teaching or coaching, I enjoy exploring Austin with my pup, Emris. We love discovering pet-friendly coffee shops, bookstores, and other places around the city.

Please feel free to email me anytime throughout the year for any questions or concerns. I’m looking forward to another great year at TSD. Go Rangers!
