Janis Cripps, a mother of three, a teacher for the Deaf, a media artist, an actor, and a fun & creative person are who I am.  Born and raised in Ontario, Canada, I went to college at Rochester Institute of Technology and obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film and Video.  After college, I moved to Tucson, Arizona and for 10 years, I have been a CTE Technology Teacher for K-12 at Arizona School for the Deaf and the Blind.  I have taught a variety of technology classes such as Digital Media, Graphic Design, Photography, Digital Journalism (yearbook), and so many more.  This is my sixth year teaching at TSD, and the courses that I teach are Graphic Design & Illustrator, Video Production 1 & 2, and Yearbook. I will be teaching your child using the amazing technology and software that we have for our current generation.  We will be using Adobe Creative Suite where your child can bring out his or her creativeness, ideas, and freedom to express themselves.  I will incorporate TEKS standards into the lesson plans and will strongly encourage critical thinking skills from your child.  The courses I teach will help your child to explore few careers out of so many possible careers that are available out there.  Thank you for letting me teach your child, and I look forward expanding their talents.
