Thank you for your interest in learning more about TSD.
As a school, all visits -- whether visiting an individual, a school office,
or for a scheduled tour -- are by appointment only.
 

Campus Tours

TSD welcomes visitors who are learning American Sign Language (ASL), studying or working in Deaf Education, members of the Deaf community, or representatives from community organizations and businesses.

 

  • TSD tours are available weekdays during the school calendar year, Mondays-Fridays, 9am-4pm, excluding federal or state holidays, and school closures. No tours are offered May - August.
  • All tour requests must be received with a minimum of two weeks advance notice, giving time to coordinate with campus security, department administrators and arrange for an interpreter when needed.
    • For larger group tours, requests must be submitted with a minimum of four weeks advance notice.
  • For visitors who are not fluent in American Sign Language (ASL), an interpreter will need to be scheduled for your tour. Spanish interpreters are also available.

Driving Directions:

From Dallas/ Ft. Worth (North):

  • South IH-35 (toward Austin)
  • Take Riverside exit and turn right (west)
  • Left on South Congress Avenue (south-away from the Capitol)
  • Drive up the hill about 1/2 block
  • The main entrance will be on the right
  • Please check in at the Security Booth just inside the main entrance and ask them to direct you to your destination
 

From San Antonio (South): 

  • North IH-35 (toward Austin)
  • Take Riverside exit and turn left (west)
  • Left on South Congress Avenue (south-away from the Capitol)
  • Drive up the hill about 1/2 block
  • The main entrance will be on the right
  • Please check in at the Security Booth just inside the main entrance and ask them to direct you to your destination
 

From Houston (East): 

  • West IH-10 (toward San Antonio)
  • Take TX 71 HWY (exit #695 toward La Grange/Austin)
  • Slight right onto Riverside
  • Left on South Congress Avenue (south-away from the capitol)
  • Drive up the hill about 1/2 mile
  • The main entrance will be on the right
  • Please check in at the Security Booth just inside the main entrance and ask them to direct you to your destination
 

From El Paso (West): 

  • East IH-10 (toward San Antonio)
  • Take right on US-290 (exit #477 toward Fredricksburg)
  • Right onto US-281 (south)
  • Merge US-290/TX 71 HWY (east)
  • Merge onto MoPac/TX-1-Loop (north)
  • Take 5th Street/Lake Austin Blvd/lst Street exit
  • Take 1st Street
  • Right on South Congress Avenue (south-away from the capitol)
  • Drive up the hill about 1/2 mile
  • The main entrance will be on the right
  • Please check in at the Security Booth just inside the main entrance and ask them to direct you to your destination
