Dear TSD Community,
During last night’s 75th Homecoming football game between Texas School for the Deaf and New Mexico School for the Deaf, the game was stopped early after several on-field incidents, including an altercation involving a member of our chain crew and the NMSD head coach. This should never have happened.
On behalf of TSD, I sincerely apologize to the NMSD community, our students, families, and fans. What occurred does not reflect the values of respect, integrity, and sportsmanship that we stand for.
To ensure accountability, we have suspended both our Athletic Director and Head Football Coach while we conduct a full investigation. We have received multiple videos of what took place and will review them carefully. We are also enforcing our internal GKC policy, aligned with our PNG (Persona Non Grata) guidelines, for the individuals involved.
We are taking this matter seriously and will take steps to ensure it does not happen again. Thank you for your continued support as we move forward together as a stronger, united TSD community.

Durante el 75º partido de fútbol americano de bienvenida 9 Homecoming) celebrado anoche entre Texas School for the Deaf y New Mexico School for the Deaf, el partido se suspendió antes de tiempo tras varios incidentes en el campo, entre ellos un altercado entre un miembro de nuestro equipo de cadena y el entrenador principal de NMSD. Esto nunca debería haber ocurrido.
En nombre de TSD, pido sinceras disculpas a la comunidad de NMSD, a nuestros estudiantes, familias y seguidores. Lo ocurrido no refleja los valores de respeto, integridad y deportividad que representamos.
Para garantizar el cumplimiento de las responsabilidades, hemos suspendido tanto a nuestro director deportivo como al entrenador jefe de fútbol americano mientras llevamos a cabo una investigación exhaustiva. Hemos recibido varios videos de lo ocurrido y los revisaremos detenidamente. También estamos aplicando nuestra política interna de GKC (visitantes de la escuela), en consonancia con nuestras directrices sobre personas no gratas (PNG, por sus siglas en inglés), a las personas implicadas.
Nos tomamos este asunto muy en serio y tomaremos medidas para garantizar que no vuelva a ocurrir. Gracias por su continuo apoyo mientras avanzamos juntos como una comunidad TSD más fuerte y unida.
