Impact Arts and Summer Stock Austin invite the community to enjoy professional-level productions of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella and Disney’s Newsies this summer at the McCullough Theatre on the UT-Austin campus. Select performances will include ASL interpretation and audio description, with individual tickets and group discounts available for those interested in attending.

We are excited to celebrate the end of a successful school year with our Middle School End of Year Trip on Tuesday, May 26! Students and staff will spend the day together at Emma Long Metropolitan Park, enjoying a well-earned opportunity to relax, connect, and make lasting memories.

We are excited to share that our 8th grade students will be joining the High School program this Thursday, May 21st, for Ranger Day—a special event designed to bring our students together for a day of fun, connection, and school spirit.

The Texas School for the Deaf Aerial Drone Team delivered an outstanding performance at the NRSC Robotics and Drone Competition in Colorado Springs, competing against a highly competitive field of 34 teams from across the nation. Representing TSD with pride, our middle school students rose to the challenge—going head-to-head with both middle and high school teams—and proved they belong among the best.

Tryouts for the Girls’ 7/8 Volleyball Team will be held May 12–13 from 3:45–5:00 PM at Rives Gym, and all interested players must attend both days. Selected athletes will be announced after tryouts and will participate in an August volleyball camp, with more details to come in June.

As spring sports wrap up, we’re excited to offer Flag Football Spring Training for 5th/6th and 7th/8th graders on May 5 and May 6 at 3:30 PM at the TSD Softball Field. This no-tryout opportunity is a great way for student-athletes to build skills, develop team chemistry, and prepare for the Fall 2026 season while having fun.

The TSD High School Volleyball Team is excited to host a Youth Volleyball Clinic for current 3rd–4th and 5th–7th grade girls and boys May 8th and 15th!

Families are invited to join us for a special screening of Unmasking Deaf Education, a powerful documentary that explores the experiences, challenges, and perspectives within Deaf education.

We'll have one 8th grader headline our MS 6-8 Awards ceremony and share words of wisdom with our middle school class. Our Student Council Sponsors highlight the process involved.

MAP testing begins this week, with the reading test on Tuesday and the math test on Thursday. Parents are encouraged to help their child feel prepared, focused, and confident so they can do their very best. (Click on the Flyer for more information)
