Weekend School for EOC Bootcamp and Attendance Recovery on FEBRUARY 28 & MARCH 1

Dear Students/Parent(s)/Guardian(s),

We are pleased to inform you that our next Weekend School will be held on Saturday, February 28th, and Sunday, March 1st for the following purposes:

  • End-of-Course (EOC) Exam Boot Camp as part of our Accelerated Instruction tutoring.

  • Attendance Recovery/Academic Recovery

Day Students may choose to attend one or both days. Residential Students who stay in the dorm on the weekend will need to attend both days.

Regarding the (STAAR) EOC ExamsEOC  assessments are required for high school students after completing certain courses: English I, English II, Algebra I, Biology, and U.S. History. Some important details to note:

  • The April administration will be for both first-time testers and retakes.

Regarding Attendance Recovery, this is typically provided to students who need attendance recovery or mandated as a result of an ARD meeting decision to make up absences. Some important details to note:

  • Each Saturday/Sunday session counts as two attendance days recovered.

  • A separate email will be sent to families whose students must attend to address urgent attendance needs.

Who Can Attend?

  • Both Day and Residential students are welcome!

  • Residential students are required to attend both days.

Meals

  • A school sack lunch will be provided (dorm students will have meals all weekend).

  • Students may bring their own snack/lunch but should not order food from off-campus.

Timing Logistics

  • Students should meet in the High School lobby at 7:55 AM.

  • Dismissal will be at 3:00 PM from the courtyard.

If interested- How to RSVP?

If you would like your child to participate, please RSVP to me by emailing dana.stoddard@tsd.texas.govno later than Thursday, February 12th. When you RSVP, please let me know which day or both. 

For residential students, please let us know as soon as possible if your child will remain on campus that weekend so we can plan appropriate dorm staff coverage. Students in the residential program who are staying during the weekend are required to attend both days while on campus.
