Off-Season Strength and Conditioning Program Supports Student Wellness and Growth

High school students at Texas School for the Deaf will have an exciting opportunity this spring to stay active, build strength, and focus on personal fitness through the Off-Season and Non-Athlete Strength and Conditioning Program. Designed especially for students who are not participating in spring sports, the program encourages healthy habits while providing a supportive and structured environment after school.

Running from March 2 through April 30, 2026, sessions will take place Monday through Thursday from 5:00–6:00 p.m. The program is open to all high school students who want to improve their physical fitness, develop endurance, and learn proper conditioning techniques. Whether students are preparing for future athletic participation or simply looking to stay active, the program offers a welcoming space for everyone.

Led by Coach Kenneth Montanez, participants will engage in guided workouts focused on strength development, conditioning, and overall wellness. Students will learn safe exercise practices while building confidence, discipline, and teamwork skills that extend beyond the gym.

Day students who plan to attend are required to complete an after-school hours form to ensure proper supervision and participation approval. Interested students can register using the provided sign-up link.

For questions or additional information, students and families may contact CJ Upchurch via email. This program provides an excellent opportunity for students to stay connected, build healthy routines, and make the most of the off-season through movement and community support.
