TSD middle school students recently had the opportunity to participate in an exciting and interactive Electric Vehicle (EV) Workshop hosted by the Austin Energy EV Team. The day was filled with hands-on learning, innovation, and inspiration as students explored the world of energy, electric vehicles, and emerging technologies.
In this captioned video, you’ll see the energy and enthusiasm that filled the room as students engaged in a dynamic information session covering how electric vehicles work, the role of clean energy, and the future of sustainable transportation. The workshop also featured career journey testimonials, giving students real-world insight into pathways in energy, engineering, and technology fields.
One of the highlights of the day was the opportunity for students to experience electric vehicles up close during a show-and-tell display. Students also participated in a sustainability-focused digital interactive experience, including virtual reality (VR) components, along with fun EV trivia through a spin wheel activity. Of course, there was also plenty of swag and hands-on engagement to keep the excitement high throughout the event.
Austin Energy worked closely with our team to ensure accessibility for our students, including coordinating sign language interpreters so that every student could fully participate in the experience. Their thoughtful collaboration and commitment to serving our students made the event not only educational but truly inclusive.
