Thinking About College? Explore the Certificate of Deafness Tuition Waiver

Families who are beginning to plan for their child’s college education are encouraged to learn more about the Certificate of Deafness Tuition Waiver Program (CODTW) offered through Texas Health and Human Services, Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services. This program provides qualified students who are deaf, deaf-blind, or hard of hearing with a tuition and tuition-based fee waiver at Texas state-supported colleges and universities. It is an important opportunity that can significantly reduce the financial burden of higher education for eligible students.

An informational session will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2026, from 11:00 AM–12:00 PM (CST). The session will be presented in American Sign Language (ASL) and spoken English, with captions and ASL/English interpretation provided. Families who need additional accommodations may request them in advance.

Parents who are thinking ahead to their child’s post-secondary future—especially those in middle school—are strongly encouraged to attend to better understand eligibility requirements, the application process, and how to plan early. Additional information and registration details are available through Texas Health and Human Services.
