We are proud to celebrate an outstanding showing by our VEX V5 Robotics teams at the Region IV competition. Region IV serves 30+ teams across the region, and only 21 teams advanced to the State Championship tournament—making this an impressive and highly competitive achievement.
Among our three competing teams, two advanced to the State Championship quarterfinals: “Robots Gone Wild” 19991B and “GearWarriors” 19991A. At the state tournament, “Robots Gone Wild” 19991B delivered an exceptional performance during qualification matches, finishing 3rd overall in matches for the day—a testament to their preparation, strategy, and teamwork. When the competition moved into the alliance-bracket playoffs that determine the state champion, both 19991B and 19991A advanced to the quarterfinals before being eliminated. Advancing that far in a state-level bracket reflects tremendous growth, skill, and resilience.
We are especially proud of GearWarriors 19991A, who earned the prestigious Judges Award. This special recognition honors teams that stand out for perseverance, professionalism, and character. After experiencing a difficult start in the early matches of the tournament, GearWarriors showed grit and determination—working their way up from the bottom of the rankings to qualify for bracket play. The Judges Award acknowledges not just performance, but the spirit and work ethic behind it, making it a truly meaningful accomplishment.
Congratulations to all teams who advanced to State. We are incredibly proud of how far our teams have come this year and look forward to seeing how they perform at the Deaf National Tournament in the coming weeks!
