PDSES Reminder— One Week Until the Application Window Opens

Dear PDSES parents/guardians and interested stakeholders*,

 

The PDSES application window is almost here. There is just one week left before applications open.

 

The 2025–2026 PDSES application window opens on April 1, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. CST. Applications will be accepted through April 30, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. CST.

 

If you plan to apply, now is the time to make sure everything is ready.

 

Final steps to prepare before April 1

  • Log in to your My SPEDTex account – Go to SPEDTex.org and select “Create Account / Sign In.”
    • If you already have an account, log in to confirm your information is current.
    • If you do not yet have an account, you will need to create one before applying.
  • Access your PDSES Parent Portal - From your My SPEDTex account, select “Go to Your PDSES Parent Portal.” This is where you will submit your application once the window opens.
    • Make sure your contact information is correct.
    • Make sure your student(s) are added
    • Confirm that each student you plan to apply for has been added to your portal profile.

Completing these steps now can help avoid delays once the application window opens.

 

What to expect after you apply

PDSES is a popular program with limited funding, and we want families to understand what to expect after submitting an application.

  • Applications for the 2025–2026 school year submitted during April 2026 will be reviewed and processed in summer 2026 (July). At that time, parents will receive an eligibility decision for their student.
  • Students who receive a denial decision will have the opportunity to submit an appeal through January 29, 2027.
  • Because the PDSES program receives a set amount of funding from the Texas Legislature each year, accounts are awarded based on available funding and prioritization. Funding for the 2025–2026 application cycle will not be available until fall 2026. Due to these funding limitations, some families may experience a wait before receiving a PDSES account, and some may not receive an account until additional funding becomes available.
