How to Use Edlio

Transcript:

Hello, I want to show you a cool app called Edlio. I'm going to show you how to download the app and how to use it. First, you will need to go to your phone’s app store. I am using an Android, so I will go to the Play Store, as you can see here. Type the word, Edlio.

There you go. See the red icon right there. Go ahead and download the app. I already downloaded the app, so I'm going to open it.

See the different schools listed here. You are going to want to pick TSD.

Say “OK” to the pop-up message.

Ta-da! All information relating to TSD is here, and it is based on TSD’s website. Look at all of these different departments and services, like family services, IT, and cafeteria, etc. Let's say I wanted to check out High School and look for more information about the department.

Click on the high school icon and it will take you to the high school homepage where all the information is. Look at the tabs.

Go back to home. Now, there is a pretty cool feature that comes with this app. It is the News section. Let’s say you receive newsletters from ELC, elementary, middle school, or high school, and you do not remember where a specific article you wanted to read is, as it got lost in the inbox. You can actually find the articles in this app by clicking the News icon.

It contains all of the articles we have posted, from the most recent ones to the oldest ones, like last week or two.

See that older post from a while back?

You will see some posts are in bold, and it means you have not read it yet. Let’s check one out.

This is a cute question: If happiness had a flavor, what do you think it would taste like? Ask your child that, and it can be a good conversation starter!

Once read, it will dim. This is pretty cool, as you can access the news any time. All the news is posted on this page. You can see which department posted the article. Like, this post right now is from ELC/Elementary.

Right here is a High School’s post and a Middle School’s. You can see which department easily.

Also, for the notifications, you can actually customize them to your preferences. I'll show you how.

Go to settings and find notifications.

Look at all of those newsletters with different information. You can disable notifications by clicking the “X” button.

Or this one only shows the news on the newsfeed, the one we just saw.

With the bell, it will also send you a notification for each article. You can decide what you want. You can also turn off all notifications by disabling this

and it will turn it all off.

You can change what kind of information you receive. Let's say you don't want to get news from HS, but you do want news from elementary. You can click “X” for HS and allow for elementary.

One more thing to know: you can adjust the language. Pretty cool. The app itself will translate the display for you. I will show you an example…

Now it is translated in the app to Spanish…

Everything is– Well, I want to emphasize that once the app takes you to another webpage, it will still be in English. I'll show you an example with transportation.

As you can see, the webpage is still in English because the website itself is in English. You can translate the page into Spanish using Google Chrome automatically.

So if you wanted to read the news, you will be able to see translated text…

Before, it was in English, and now it is translated into Spanish. Super easy! You do not have to translate it manually. That's all! Thank you & bye!
