Welcome to Mental Health Minute! Today we are learning about 3 parts of the brain. The brain has many, many functions but we will focus on the primary roles.

We are delighted to share our recent initiative at TSD aimed at promoting a drug-free environment and fostering a supportive community.

The TSD Foundation works to strengthen language, academic achievement and career pathways for deaf students at TSD and across Texas.

Ames Biskupiak has worked at TSD for 4 years now in 3 different positions and is currently our Theater Arts teacher. What Ames loves most about their job is STUDENTS! Ames said, “They inspire me on a daily basis. I really do love seeing them grow from their contributions to the community.”

Congratulations to our CTE Automotive Collision Repair & Refinishing teacher, Keith Baker, who was named a winner of the Harbor Freight Tools for Schools Prize for Teaching Excellence on October 3rd.

It is time to raise awareness for another important cause in the month of September, which is Deaf Awareness Month. We have an American Sign Language (ASL) Video contest coming up! We want high school students to submit their videos showcasing their talents to help shine a spotlight on Deaf Awareness.

The High School has activities for staff to have open conversations with students to learn more the warning signs and risk factors for suicide, how to report and connect someone who is considering suicide with more support, and familiarize themselves with the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.

Are you a senior applying to college? You may need to take the ACT. Check your chosen colleges' admission requirements to see if you will need to take the ACT. If you have any questions, please contact your career counselor.
