Deaf Santa is back! Join us Wed, Dec 4, 2024, 4–8 PM at Barton Creek Square (Entrance B). Kids who are deaf or hard of hearing can share wish lists with Santa in sign language! Free photos & stockings provided. Don’t miss the TSD Sign Choir 5–7 PM.

TSD Homecoming kicks off with a Blue & White Pep Rally on Fri, Oct 18 at 1:30 PM. Festivities on Sat, Oct 19 include a festival (10 AM-4 PM), JV & Varsity volleyball matches vs. Austin Royals (1 PM & 2 PM), and the TSD Rangers football game vs. Alabama School for the Deaf at 5:30 PM.

Texas School for the Deaf opens its new state-of-the-art Culinary Program facilities today! The program, featuring a commercial kitchen, dining room, and Grab & Go café, equips students with skills for future careers. Ribbon-cutting ceremony held with lawmakers and community members.

Governor Abbott has proclaimed Sept. 23-29, 2024, as Deaf Awareness Week in Texas, recognizing the contributions of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community. Celebrate by learning about their unique culture and visual communication methods like ASL, promoting inclusion and understanding.

Peter Bailey, TSD’s Superintendent, shared updates in his Vlog: The Claire Bugen Legacy Award of Merit has been established, with the first recipient being Deaf actress Lauren Ridloff; TSD will install life-size horse statues representing different school levels; The TSD Gym will be named after Robert Rives, pending legislative approval; TSD's mascot is retiring, and a new, modern Ranger mascot is coming soon. Austin, Texas – May 30, 2024 - Forty-seven high school graduates receive their diplomas today, at 2:00 p.m., during Texas School for the Deaf’s (TSD) commencement ceremonies, at the school’s R.L. Davis Auditorium, located at 1102 South Congress Avenue, in Austin.

The high school students of the Texas School for the Deaf (TSD) dove headfirst into an immersive experience in Washington, D.C.

The 2024-2025 school year calendar has been approved by the TSD Governing Board. According to the approved schedule, classes will start on August 12, 2024, and end on May 30, 2025.
