Statewide Outreach Center

The Statewide Outreach Center shares the resources and expertise of the Texas School for the Deaf with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, their families, and professionals across Texas. SOC works with schools, agencies, and family groups to build a strong network of support and information.

We offer services in many ways. Some are on the TSD campus. Others take place in local communities, homes, classrooms, or online through video and digital tools.

• Connect families and professionals with the right agency, program, service, or resource to support deaf and hard-of-hearing students anywhere in Texas.
• Provide programs and services for families and their children (birth–22) who attend schools and educational programs across the state.
• Offer training and professional development for staff and educators.
• Create online resources and materials that are easy to access.
• Expand access to SOC services through statewide events and virtual options.
• Work with programs across Texas to support effective and efficient services.
• Increase awareness that every deaf and hard-of-hearing student can reach their full potential when given the right educational opportunities.
