Course Description

This course covers the study of matter and energy, focusing on their interactions through metric measurements and problem-solving. Topics include velocity and acceleration, Newton’s Laws of Motion, forces, conservation of energy and momentum, heat, electrostatics, electricity, magnetism, waves, sound, light, and modern physics. Laboratory investigations emphasize the development of process skills and reinforce course content using computers and safe handling of lab instruments. This course aligns with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills for Science (TEKS).
