SIGNING SANTA CLAUS IN TOWN

Monday, December 7, 2020

Barton Creek Square Mall

A Very Special Night with a Very Special Santa

Austin, Texas – December 7, 2020 Santa arrives at Barton Creek Square mall today, ready to check wish lists from area children who are deaf or hard of hearing, at 2:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Santa Claus knows all languages, including sign language.

Signing Santa is a tradition that began in 2005 by the North Austin Optimist Club, and continues thanks to the kindness of Simon Management at Barton Creek Square and Michael Barker Photography.

On this one night each year, children who communicate in sign language, wait for their turn to relay their wish lists directly to Santa – who is deaf like them.

Every child or family takes home a free photo and a small treat from his workshop.
