Our Texas Rangers girls basketball team traveled to Washington, D.C. for the Clerc Classic XVIII competition hosted by Model Secondary School for the Deaf (M.S.S.D.) from January 10-14, 2018.

Texas School for the Deaf Creates Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund

TSD has created a relief fund to support our students and families devastated by the catastrophic flooding wrought by Hurricane Harvey. We are reaching out for your assistance to help our 140 students and their families, each of whom are struggling in different ways, in response to the devastation they have experienced.

In response to many of you who are reaching out to TSD asking for how you can assist TSD students, families and others in the Deaf community who have been affected by the recent storm, we very much appreciate you contacting us with offers of support. Very soon, we will have identified and will post updates on our TSD homepage directing donations to directly assist affected TSD students and families.

Updates on Opening of School Day (English/Español) - Update Sunday, August 27th (5:00pm)

TSD will have a 2-hour delayed opening tomorrow, Monday, August 28th. Austin area buses will be arriving two hours later than the pre-scheduled time. If your student does not ride a TSD bus, check with your local school district on their plans for Monday. Please be advised that at this time we have approximately 90 residential students who have returned.

Message from the Superintendent: Beginning of the School Year.

2017 PTSO Readathon - Donate Online to Support Our Students' Reading! Feb 1 - Mar 3, 2017

Our ECE, Elementary, Special Needs and Middle School Students are Reading to Raise Money for our School! Online Donations Accepted until Midnight, Mar 3. Help us reach our goal of $11,400! You can choose to donate on behalf of a specific student or to the overall reading efforts.

TSD Academic Bowl Regional Champions for a second year in a row. In addition to bringing home the championship, Lydia Kopp and Trevor Johnson were recognized as all star players.

TSD Participated at the Texas Capitol Schoolhouse

Six HS students from TSD attended a full day of learning and sharing STEM activities in the lower rotunda of the State Capitol. The Texas Capitol Schoolhouse is a legislative event giving students and teachers across Texas the opportunity to showcase how technology is being used to improve public schools. CEASD Accreditation Visit November 27-30, 2016

TSD has completed its Self-Study for Accreditation based on CEASD’s 12 Standards and sample indicators. We have also completed our schedule for the Visiting Team highlighting interviews, meetings and events that will take place during the visit.
We will host our last mandatory Town Hall Meeting on Accreditation Tuesday, November 15. The presentation for the meeting is also attached.
