What is District Advisory Committee?
According to state law (Texas Education Code, §11.251), school policy and the direction of the TSD Governing Board, the District Advisory Committee (DAC) is composed of various stakeholders such as parents, teachers, administrators, community representatives, and other school staff. Specific responsibilities of the DAC include but are not limited to:
- Provide input into decisions relating to areas of planning, budgeting, curriculum, educational and residential programming, staff development and school organization
- Provide assistance in the development, evaluation, monitoring, and annual revision of the District Improvement Plan (DIP)
- Provide input and comment on the TSD student performance
