7th Grade Math Teacher - Dylan Sicoli
Hello! I am beginning my second year of teaching here at my alma mater, Texas School for the Deaf, where I graduated in 2017. After TSD, I attended Gallaudet University and earned my degree in Risk Management and Insurance. I then spent two years working in the insurance industry before returning home to pursue my passion for education.
I currently teach 7th grade Mathematics to all middle school students. My goal is to help every student find a passion for math and experience moments of success that make learning enjoyable. I believe math is for everyone, and I strive to create a positive, engaging classroom where students can take risks, make mistakes, and grow in confidence.
Outside the classroom, I am entering my third season as the Varsity Men’s Basketball coach here at TSD. I truly enjoy being around students and athletes, both on and off the court, and value the strong sense of community that TSD provides.
This year, students will be exploring many areas of mathematics aligned with the 7th grade TEKS curriculum, including rational numbers, operations with fractions and decimals, proportional reasoning, geometry (area, surface area, and volume), probability, and algebraic equations and inequalities. My goal is to help students build strong problem-solving skills they can apply beyond the classroom.
When I’m not teaching or coaching, you’ll likely find me outdoors—whether it’s fishing, playing golf, or enjoying a round of disc golf.
I’m excited for another great year of learning and growing together here at TSD!
