Mr. Marshall Hurst
Hello all!
My name is Mr. Marshall Hurst, and I’m a first-year Social Studies teacher from a small town in the countryside of Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada, a place I’m proud to call home. Ever since I was a child, I’ve been fascinated by the world and everything it has to offer. That curiosity sparked my passion for traveling: exploring new places with an open mind and discovering new perspectives that can change how we see the world.
I’ve had the incredible opportunity to live in six cities across three continents. I studied abroad in Zagreb, Croatia, where I spent four unforgettable months taking classes and traveling. I also spent three months working in Sydney, Australia thousands of miles away from home! I’ve traveled to over 35 countries across the Americas, Australia, Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia, and every time I visit a new place, I fall in love with it all over again. I’m still in awe of how big the world is and how cultures can vary so beautifully from country to country.
I hold degrees from Rochester Institute of Technology and Boston University, and I’m excited to bring my global experiences into the classroom. Traveling, understanding the world, and learning about history and geography have lasting benefits and I can’t wait to share that excitement with my students.
Below, you’ll find a few highlights from my adventures around the globe!
