Any student (must have a drivers license to drive the cars) can take this class.

TxDOT is sponsoring an amazing opportunity for young drivers coming to the Austin Area. For the first time, Ford Driving Skills for Life is coming to Austin!
Ford Driving Skills for Life – A Safe Driving Solution
A signature program of Ford Philanthropy, Ford Driving Skills for Life teaches newly licensed and teen drivers the necessary skills for safe driving beyond what they learn in standard driver education programs.
Now in its 22nd year, Ford Driving Skills for Life has invested more than $60 million to provide free, advanced driver education to more than 1.25 million people worldwide.
Ford Driving Skills for Life captures teen and parent interest with hands-on driver training clinics that pair newly licensed drivers with professional instructors, focusing on the issues and obstacles drivers face that cause crashes, including:
Major Program Elements
- Hazard Recognition
- Vehicle Handling
- Speed Management
- Space Management
- Distracted and Impaired Driving
This event is completely free for young drivers to participate in.
Dates: Saturday and Sunday, November 8 & 9th,
- Times: 3 sessions to choose from (Times: 8:00 am, 11:00 am, and 3:00 pm)
