TSD will not offer virtual learning. The school is prepared to serve students with medical and health needs. The TSD health and safety plan has changed due to new revised TEA public health guidance. TSD is currently seeking a community provider that can offer vaccine clinics on a monthly basis.

School-wide COVID screening on Sunday evening August 29th for our dorm students, and Monday morning August 30th for our day students.

Thank you for all you have done to protect our students and staff in these challenging COVID times. We managed pretty well last year and it is my hope to do likewise this school year.

July 19, 2021 Dear Parents and Guardians, Our summer programs are finished and the opening of school is just around the corner! We are preparing for a safe and productive school year! I want to reach out to all our families with information about vaccinations. At this point in time vaccinations are readily available for all of us over the age of 12 across the state. Many doctor’s offices are now equipped to vaccinate adults and students over the age of 12.

Hurricane season began June 1st, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) encourages individuals and communities to work together to improve preparedness in the event of hazardous weather resulting from hurricanes and other tropical storms.

Today, at the Texas School for the Deaf (TSD), a three-day robotics event - Build & Play 2021 - kicks off for newly formed Texas high school robotics teams to gain experience competing in the field.

Texas School for the Deaf’s (TSD) 2019-2020 annual report has been selected for a Barbara Jordan Media Award by the Governor’s Committee on People with Disabilities (GCPD).

The first graduating class to persevere through their final two years of school during a global pandemic, the Texas School for the Deaf (TSD) celebrates the accomplishments of 56 extraordinary students today. TSD’s in-person commencement ceremony, outdoors on the school’s R.L. Davis field, begins at 7:00 p.m. CST this evening. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, attendance is limited to invited guests only.

Available on-demand, May 13-22, 2021, Texas School for the Deaf’s (TSD) performing arts program presents 10 Ways to Survive Life in Quarantine, by Don Zolidis, a virtual play full of handy solutions learned and life lessons shared when the recent lockdown left us to entertain, and sometimes fend for ourselves.

100BikesForKids and woom delivered 30 bikes for students to enjoy at the Texas School for the Deaf.

Inviting students who are deaf or hard of hearing and residents of Texas. You can sign up for different weeks and attend more than one camp. Registration ends April 1, 2021.

Senators Edward J. Markey (D-Mass.) and Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.), and Representatives Matt Cartwright (PA-08) and David McKinley (WV-01) today reintroduced bipartisan legislation that will strengthen the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) to ensure that visual and hearing-impaired students receive the best education possible.
