TITLE I - EVERY STUDENT SUCCEEDS ACT (ESSA)

Introducing the Texas School for the Deaf (TSD) Family Engagement Plan: a dynamic blueprint fostering collaboration between families and educators to ensure a child’s optimal educational journey. This living document is subject to annual review and updates.

Title I, the prominent federal education assistance program, mandates schools to fulfill specific family engagement requirements. TSD goes above and beyond by co-creating a comprehensive “parent involvement (engagement) policy policy” alongside the parents and families of the school This policy outlines the precise measures to be implemented, blending family engagement seamlessly into the child’s learning experience. It prioritizes cultural and linguistic diversity in deaf education, ensuring the support covers all aspects of the child’s development.

TSD’s Family Engagement Plan is strategically designed to unlock the full potential of family involvement, propelling academic success for every student enrolled at the school. By employing various components and strategies, this plan fosters a harmonious space where families, students, and teachers can grow, learn, and belong together.
